Glutaraldehyde/Metricide shelf life (1 year+ ??)

I just ordered a gallon of Metricide 14.

What does it mean by "Metricide 14 day"?

I've read up on this and it's about double the concentration of Flourish Excel.

Thus it should last me about a year. I'll need (maximum!) 10mL per day, so that's about 380 days worth of dosing.

Should I expect this stuff to remain useful for a year, once opened, stored at room temp?

Also, at normal dosing levels (2-3 mL per 50 gallons) will this have any harmful effects on Crystal Red shrimp or red cherry? One of my tanks has a BUNCH of them. The other has none.

Finally, should I expect this to kill my subwassertang like it does riccia?

Thanks!

Keep it stored in a dark location and you should be good to go.
I purchased 25% Biological Grade Glutaraldehyde (no hazmat shipping fee) mixing up about 7 liters each time and storing the bottle bagged in a cardboard box inside a chemical cabinet. Seems to store fine once opened.

I've had diluted "14 day" under my stand for 3-4 months. I just used it today to see if I would kill my Black Brush....well its still got some power because everything it blood red. I would say at least a year sealed and undiluted in a dark location.

Ok, GREAT!

So just what does the "14 day" thing mean?

I think thats how long it lasts when you put the activator in it or so.
