test kits for iron, etc.?

Where do you get kits to test your water for iron, etc.? We only have a Petsmart locally, and they don't carry any. There are aquarium shops about an hour's drive away, and I'll go one day, but not this week. Right now my plants look good, but they are new. I'll kill 'em yet . Petsmart carries all kinds of dosing liquids, but I don't want to buy anything until I know what I need & how to use them. My tank is low tech, low light (I think, trying to figure that out) planted with low light plants. The substrate is 1/2 & 1/2 peagravel and FloraMax.
Many thanks for any help!

flea bay for test kits, better off with an all round fert than just iron.

I was looking at the selection of fertilizers at Petsmart today, and it just confused me. Macro & micro nutrients, iron, potassium - liquids, tablets. On & on. I never thought of eBay for test kits, I'll check there. I don't want to add anything to the tank I don't need. I may make a day trip to a real aquarium store next week, maybe they'll have stuff. It's just such a long drive. Years ago when I had tanks (but never with live plants before) there were
fish stores everywhere. I really miss them now...

I have had poor luck with Fe test kits so make sure you get a good suggestion before you get one. I would stay away from Petsmart ferts and testing products or atleast our local stores only stock the bottom of the barrell in almost every catagory.

JBL test kits have always worked for me and flourish complete is a goof all round fertilizer. You will find everything aquarium related on fleabay for around 20% cheaper. I always try and buy half my stuff from a LFS just to support a dying trade.
