Liquid fert mix won't stay in solution

Hi all,

So I mixed dry ferts and distilled water to make a liquid macro and liquid micro mix the other day (PPS Pro concentrations for both mixes), and I keep getting stuff precipitating out of solution, especially in the micro mix. Any way to keep this from happening? What do all of you do to keep everything dissolved?

Thanks!

Are you combining chemicals?

Try not to mix past the solubility point of a compound.

Also, you'll obviously want to shake the bottle before use every time.

I have no idea but try boiling it. I know water will absorb more sugar or salt if its hot.but I have no idea

this one is easy...look up the solubility of the substance (i think MSDS has this) AT ROOM TEMPERATURE (even shoot for the lowest you keep your house at in the winter) then disolve less then what the solubility is for that given temperature. This will make sure it all dissolves and gives room for error.

Do not boil to get it all dissolved. The ferts will just precipitate out once it cools hence the solubility is higher at higher temperatures and lower and lower temperatures.

Also, once you have your mixture depending on what is in it (CaSO4 for instance) it can take along time to dissolve even at the correct mixture. You might have to shake it quite a bit.

Hope this helps....

Yeah, I combined KNO3, KH2PO4, K2SO4, and MgSO4 in the macro mix. I assumed that the mix would be soluble at the concentrations listed on the PPS Pro site because I assumed that it's been used and has worked, but maybe not.

I use PPS-Pro and I mix mine per 1000ml solution. Mine take a couple days to dissolve completely but it will happen if you shake good before each use. No worries, works fine.
