How are these fert dosing bottles convenient?

So I just got two 1000mL fert bottles and it's one of those ones with two caps: one to the main bottle and another to a small section that has a few volume markers on the side (5mL is the smallest one, and 30mL is the largest). I've been thinking about it and having a separate compartment for that doesn't seem very useful at all... it seems like I'd be transferring liquid over using a dropper anyway, and my dropper already has mL markers on it so that extra compartment seems useless.

What are your thoughts on these bottles?

WIth the lid on the main compartment, and off of the other side, squeeze the bottle. It will fill the little compartment....

Well it seems like a lot of people were using them and liking them so chances were pretty good that it was worth the investment. I just got really confused when I opened the package and felt around the small dosing compartment and thought it was closed off to the rest of the bottle.

I was ordering dry ferts from GLA and I just picked up some bottles as well, since if I looked for them separately on the S&S here, shipping would probably make it more expensive than just adding it to my GLA order.

USPlastics has them for less than $2 each and shipping is $5 for as many as you want to buy.

That's how I got mine. I bought 5, kept 2 and sold the others on the SnS forum. I saved a few dollars, and spent a lot of time and trouble doing so.

But if you're looking to buy 3 or 4 to mix up your macros separately along with your trace mix, $2 each is much less than the $5 or $6 each you'll have to pay on most sites. I use 4, one each for KNO3, KH2PO4, MgSO4 and traces so that was less than $13 total including shipping versus almost $30 from one of the popular fert vendors.

You're right, they can be hard to find. Here's the link.
