Question ~ cheapest way to add IRON ? ~

Is there any common NON commercial way to add IRON ?

"Non commercial" sort of limits you to using rusty nails you find in the trash. You can get CSM+B very cheaply on line, as well as iron chelate. The 1/2 to 1 pound you would buy online would last you several years.

don't forget smashing up cast iron pans......


like he said, iron chelate online is about your most cost effect straight "iron" your going to find. any regular steel or iron will provide iron but lots of it wont be chelated and simply be toxic heavy metals in the water.

I've been saying I was going to test iron sulfate for some time, but haven't gotten around to setting up an experiment. It's still commercial, but about 10% of the price of chelated iron.
