waterman:

Would you please be so kind as to post where you are at and where you plan to be going one more time? I am a little late and I might have missed some details.

So at what state is your tank at now. Have you switched substrates to eco yet or is that a project for Saturday? If the eco is in you should be able to get away with a normal water change to bring the water level down. If the eco is not in then you might have to move the fish. That type/number of fish do you currently have? If the eheim is running well I would recommend leaving it intact so that you do not lose too much biological filtering (although a heavily planted tank does not depend on it) and can seed the tank to speed a return to normalcy. You might have quite a bit of dust if you are switching substrates so be prepared. (With fluorite I have best results filling the tank dry with un-rinsed material. You are free to disagree with this point) I do not run carbon in my tanks. I prefer a sponge or two in its place. The point of the filter (for me) is circulation/mechanical filtration.

So good luck and try and snap a picture or two of the building process.

Moved to Tucson.
