Help with Dosing please ! Starter Regimen!

Hello ,

I have been doing this low tech for about 6 months and have struggled with all forms of algae probably due to the fact that I did not know how to feed them. I primarily used Nitrates (fish) Phosphates ( TMinProFlakes) and nothing else.

I have recently purchased

Plantex CSM+B 1lb.
KN03 Potassium Nitrate 1lb.
KH2P04 Mono Potassium Phosphate 1lb.
K2S04 Potassium Sulfate 1lb.
Iron Chelate
Magnesium Sulfate 1 lb. Price

I want to begin Doing both a 10g Planted and a 55 Gal Planted but I do not know how to use Chucks Calculator and feel really dumb. I usualy get most things but I am 2nd guessing myself.

10 Gal ( Diy Co2 )
55W Lighting
Heavy plants
15 Cardnal Tet
Kh 4
Ph. 6.8

55 (co2)
150W
Heavy Plants
30 tetras ( 6 cories ) 1 Pleco ( 3 angels )
KH 4
Ph 6.8

Thanks

Sweet move jippa...Only thing I see you may need to improve on is DIY C02, 19ppm is a bit low, try to increase it if possible.

This regimen should work nicely for you

And here is an rtf file to keep up with it all

On the 10g you will need to mix all your fert's and dose in ml.

Thanks for the quick response and for helping me along the way . Your last post is what got me started.

I am adding an additional bottle of DIY to each tank .

What should I clean in my Eheim ? Do you replace the White and Blue Pads ? Every 2 Weeks ?

I have a low budget so the DIY Co2 for now

Well, Eheim media is good stuff, you can use it as long as you choose, I have a couple of bags of that stuff, may use it one day, who knows, floss seem's to be all I need at this time, does the job, when it's time to clean filter, pour out old floss rinse can, replace with new floss, much easier than trying to clean all the eheim media, some folks rinse there media in old tank water.. screw that..lol

You do not use noodles or whatever in your Eheim?
Just poly-fill? Oh man, that sounds wonderfully easy!
Is there any disadvantage to not using the ceramic noodles?
My 2026 has 2 baskets, does yours? Could a person still use the 100% floss with the baskets? Seems like that might be a little different.
Do you use the stuff that is in rolls or the kind that is just sort of spun?

No...I do not use the noodles/gravel etc. No dis-advantage at all.
I have 4 Eheims, and they all get just plain ol floss.
Spun or rolls? does not matter.

Very light green face on bag.
100%polyester
Mainstay's Crafts
20oz Craft fiber
Premium Polyester Fiberfill $2 a bag
Looks like a small pillow. its just a bag of floss,

Rip out what you need place in clean canister fire it back up
