Added fish and nitrates fell

I just added 6 rainbows, and a oto yesterday and nitrates fell from about 7.5 to about 2 or 3. Total fish count is 8 rainbows, 2 angels, 3 otos, 1 clown loach in 37 gallons. Does that make sense. Could it be because I turned my emperor 280 on high last night. Hope it helps with the reds.

I doubt that adding fish had anything to do with that, plant's are most likely eating it.

By setting the Emperor on high you should've had more nitrates. Bio filters don't reduce nitrates, they produce them...they do reduce ammonia and nitrites. Did you do a WC? Are you sure you tested right?

heh... that is total coincidence, the fish had nuttin to do with it. All that drop means is that good things are happening. Dont forget to replace them .
