Some help for an amateur on proper dosing methods

I've asked the question secondarily on some other posts but I thought
I'd put in a more direct request. I started a year ago with a 29 gallon
which is now fluorishing as an easy maintenance low light tank. As I started
a new tank 10 gallon and have a 55 in the works I've started to realize
I need to get a hold on this "dosing of ferts" that I've read long, confusing discussions about here and on several other sights.
All I had ever thought was throw some fluorish in once a week and I was
good, at least with the species I was working with. After recent trouble
getting glosso to grow (dying for a beautiful carpet) I realized I need to
figure this out,,,,but it seems a little overwhelming, I'm smart but excess
tv has fried my patience centers, plus I'm in the military with a million excessive responsibilities and two kids to chase around. So long story
short I'm looking for a good easy to absorb faq on this whole business
before I throw what I estimate will be about a grand on my 55 setup
look forward to your input, I only hope I can contribute back in the future.

Read my Guide.

And don't spend a grand on a 55 gallon tank. Get a 75 gallon instead. You will be much happier with it.
