Quick low KH question

My well water is approximately 8 GH and 2 KH. I’d like to install a drip water change system for a 150 gallon tank setup.

I don’t want to mess around with buffers for raising the KH if I don’t have to because I’m looking for this to me as hand off as possible.

I currently remineralize and buffer RO water and do semi-automated weekly changes of about 30% tank volume. But I’m looking to get out of the business of making and remineralizing water.

Should I worry about 2 KH? Or will the constant drip of new water (along with standard aquarium maintenance) keep the KH from crashing to zero and help avoid PH issues?

Any thoughts or advice is greatly appreciated.

Unless keeping hard water fauna you should be fine. 2 dKH is pretty darn perfect for most plants. As to whether this will hold in your tank depends on substrate, wood, and various things that can release tannins. It does tend to trend downward in my own soft water tanks. 30% weekly may be enough to offset this with inert substrate, minimal wood in the hardscape, etc.
Asteroid and Tuister like this.

Nothing good happens fast in an ecosystem.

Thanks for the response. I have nothing in the aquarium now that contributes to tannins in any way. Just A few pieces of manzanita and some large river stones. CO2 injection is about the only thing acidifying the waters right now.
