Would you consider this inadequate lighting? Tank is 20" tall.

Alot of this hobby is that way, lol!

There's a lot, also, that goes into answering a question like that. Unfortunately.

Inadequate for what? Is there co2? Planning on carpet plants?

It looks like Val's and Crypts right? I would say that is adequate lighting for the plants that are in that pic. But I don't know growth rate now vs expected.

Wanting to add carpeting plants, probably not.

That's my .02 cents

Just vals and a few dormant swords, which are hard to see because I cut them back a few weeks ago. There has been absolutely no growth with them. Vals are happy.

I ordered supplies to run CO2 to this tank as well, and will fertilize more frequently once I get it set up.

Carper plants are out of the question anyway. The geos would tear them out.

I started dosing ferts in the 65 gallon and will be adding CO2 injection in a couple days. The Swords and Anubias are already showing new growth

Question regarding iron dosing in my 20 gal high tech: I am dosing the recommended ratios of NPK and CSM+B, but I am finding the need to supplement with Seachem Iron on micro days. Otherwise, new growth is often yellow if I do not and green when I do. Should I ditch the Seachem Iron and just increase the ratio of CSM+B? I'm fine with supplementing with Seachem Iron if necessary, but obviously don't want to waste my money if I don't have to.

Do I continue to add Excel every day or just until the algae subsides?

Once algae is gone you can likely stop dosing it.
