How to ensure I'm not over dosing?

Hello, I am worried about over dosing my small 2.5g (estimated 2g water volume) tank.
Assuming no uptake by my moderately planted tank I estimated my ppm of Potassium to be 4.82ppm after my last water change. So I added an amount of Flourish Potassium to raise the ppm to about 22.82ppm. My next water change is coming up and I'm not sure how much to dose. My plants are seeing heavy growth, recently though and I do hear of people dosing 20ppm weekly. As in that seems to be a pretty normal thing I hear people do.

Also, if I have flourish Comprehensive that has trace elements do I need flourish trace as well? I hear sometimes yes and sometimes people say no.

Your hearing people dose 20ppm? Are those tanks high light/co2 tanks? Are they of same volume as your tank with same planting density?

Most of this stuff your reading has no bearing on your low light/non co2 tank.

As long as your doing good water changes per week and staying within guidelines I wouldn't worry to much about K being too abundant. There is a pretty wide range. Being low tech you can certainly go toward a somewhat leaner dosing routine than what is typical for EI.

You more than likely don't need Flourish trace. Flourish comp has everything trace has. The only real difference is a few items (i know copper, zinc) are in greater abundance. These are usually provided by the Flourish Comp and your tap water especially for low tech.
