Calcium Boron Liquid Fertilizer

Hello,

I bought a bottle of liquid calcium boron supplement "Calcium 33% Boron 2% High Concentration 500 ml"

The fluid is white and quite thick. Do I add this to my macros or to the chelated micros?

Thanks, Bruce

The main question I would have is why are you adding it, or maybe better stated, what does your tap water look like?

This would be something you only add as you replace water. You may find that you need to add Mg as well. Mg could be done as you replace water, as part of your micros, or like I do, both.

i think I'd add that to my trash can. It looks like a food supplement of some type. Can you get aquarium-specific fertilizers where you are or online?

Thank you for the reply.

Im dosing phosphate and micros according to PPS, my intention is to have the bioload take care of the nitrates. I thought that calcium was also dosed in the EI / PPS system, thats why I bought this calcium boron fertiliser.

I bought:
- chelated Iron (DTPA)
- Magnesium sulfate
- Mono potassium phosphate (0-52-34)
- Mix of chelated trace elements (Micronic P)
- This "Magic Calcium Boron" concoction

Im dosing 0.1 ppm Fe and PO4 per week with dosing on alternating days from a macro and micro solution. I still had to figure out what to do with the calcium boron mix, hence this post.

Seems like that will be the result

I can get all the pre mixed usual stuff (Seachem, Tropica, ADA etc) domestically, but not the dry mixes such as GLA. I thought it would be a nice task to both figure out how to do dry fertiliser dosing using locally available fertilisers. So far I have enjoyed this challenge.

Here is the micro mix and my micros dosing scheme. I calibrated the concentration so that I squirt once from the pump bottle into the aquarium every other day. Inbetween, I dose the PSO4.

Edit.
Just noticed that I might be misunderstanding the recommendations in the Rotala Butterfly Calculator. Am I distributing the DAILY Fe amount over a WEEK?

Modified Micronic-P

500 ml, 1 ml / 10 gallon or 40L, 0.1 ppm Fe(TE)
9.1 g, Micronic-P
25.7 g, DTPA Fe 7%
13.5 g, Ca - B Supplement

See “Modified Micronic-P”

Details:
Fe
9.09 g, 0.01ppm Fe, Micronic-P
25.71 g, 0.09 ppm Fe, DTPA-Fe-7%
Total 0.1 ppm Fe

B
9.09 g, 0.0015 ppm B, Micronic-P, B2O5 => 21.278 % B
13.50 g, 0.0135 ppm B, Ca - B Supplement
Total 0.015 ppm B

Modified Micronic-P, ppm
0.1000 Fe
0.0095 Mn
0.0145 B
0.0159 Zn
0.0046 Mo
0.0046 Cu

Ca - B Supplement is added to increase B, not Ca. Ca addition, when 0.01 ppm Fe(TE) is dosed daily is only 0.165 ppm of Ca. What you also need is K2SO4.

Sorry Edward, but did you post an attachment called "Modified Micronic-P"?

I can see it as a blocked picture on my phone but not while logged in on my computer.

Kind regards, BruceAlejander
