Did you get one, any progress? I recommend adding ZnSO4 and NiSO4 to create Upgraded Trace Mix. It works very well and it would be interesting if you tried it.

Not ordered yet!
It is very tempting but too much of regular CSM+B is sitting around from Colin.
I really should and it would be a preferred blend but another experiment right now? , not so much.

WTH, I just sold some plants and PayPal is getting heavy so maybe tomorrow I'll buy.
That will mean 3 different tanks with 3 different micro solutions????

This just arrived today, maybe make a new batch this coming weekend.
I will modify this for sure with Zn & Ni

How are you adding zinc and nickel? Wondering how I would go about adding it to mine...

I knew you were serious because you are the most qualified to test this. This product when upgraded will replace the old CSM+B.

Good move, thank you.

ZnSO4 & NiSO4 non chelated.
Ni is hexahydrate and Zn is monohydrate.

Good move, thank you.
Going to wait another month before I make a new mix.
About 100ml left of the already modified CSM+B that is used in two tanks.
I ran some math on this and Fe will stay the same but other micro elements will go up.
Will it help? I can't say @ this time yet.

Someone could surely talk me into wasting 100ml of already mixed solution!

Official News:
New batch is made today with GLA CSM+B mix.
I call it the Canada batch due to country availability.
The next dose will be the new mix, probably on Wednesday eve.

After my most recent cleanup Fe consumption has went back to .012 or so ppm per day.
Lots of sunken algae was siphoned from the tank not to mention what the diatom filter collected.

What amount of Fe can algae consume?
This could be a whole other topic that I hope does not come back.

Well I have dosed the new mix 3 times so far.

I want to say that I see improvement but I feel I need more time.
Get everything trimmed down soon and see how all new growth looks.

Nothing in this hobby is instantaneous except death & melting!
Improvement is always a slow road on rough terrain.
Patience is an acquired taste!

Awesome! And yes, patience is hard. I find it especially challenging when acclimating new plants and getting the melt before a lot of new growth.

Well I really think enough time has went by now.
Despite the algae bomb and bad water for a while.
Almost all plants are in capped soil cups, so they are returned to the state they were in.
I've went through 125ml of this "Canadian" mix in the 80G so far but am still dosing the 33G with the roll my own version.
I'm not going to make another roll my own for the 33G but start dosing the new "Canadian" mix in the 33G.
I'll make the "Canadian" mix in a 500ml bottle from now on.

The Results:
This may be BS but the new mix has provided the best growth ever so far.
A dose every 7-10 days of .15ppm Fe has provided the best growth I've seen.
This is way lower micros than most others provide but I target water column and change little water.
Going to slack off on measuring Fe since the dosing has became very predictive now.
Will have to see how this works in the 33G next, I am expecting good results though.
My 75G will receive this too but it has other known issues @ this time.

Thanks @Edward !!!

My largest mistake was buying more plants for the 80G.
Thinking about the algae mess and what would not recover.
Have way more plants than is needed @ this time.

Thank you for posting your results, experience and detailed data.

Have you upgraded the new Trace Mix with Zn and Ni in your tests, or did you use it raw?
