Osmocote Plus Aquarium Live Plant Fertilizer (New Product?)

I'm not a root tab guy, but I stumbled upon this and it intrigued me (supposedly designed specifically for aquarium use). The few reviews were mixed. I was wondering if anyone has tried them or found analysis of it. I couldn't find anything about it other than as a listing on Amazon. The root tabs are Size 00. I'm wondering if someone is making them on a DIY basis and somehow got them listed as though they were made by Scott's.

Hmm..
I do use root tabs in my low-tech set-up. I tried the Osmocote tabs before and I didn't like them because they left all these little orange balls in substrate that didn't seem to disintegrate for along time. Ive been using Seachem Flourish tabs which I really like; but, they are very expensive when adding to a 180 gallon, a 60 gallon, and 2-30 gallon tanks.

Ill be curious to see if anyone has tried them.

180 g. low tech w/ wild South American cichlids, corydoras eques, and African Congo riverine tetras.
60 g. low tech w/ F1 Alenquer pair /Stendker "Tefe" discus and wild Altum Angels
30 g. low tech w/ Wild Tucano tetras
30 g. low-tech African Biotope

I can't quite tell from looking at the picture, but I think they may contain those little balls.

Does package/labeling look like it was made by a major corporation like Scottís with graphics and other buzz words/blurbs specifically stating itís a made for aquarium product or is it a ziplock bag with maybe, if your lucky, a printed white label on it?

If Scottís was making it would have full on packaging and graphics marketing it specifically to aquaculture crowd. They wouldnít ship in ziplock bags.

Yes, it does. That's why the confusion. However, there is also a little baggy-type package positioned in front of it, which made me think it might be a DIY'er. I tend, now, to think that it's just something that neither Amazon or Scott's has caught yet to protect the brand.

I think @jeffkrol showed they do make a version of osmocote for aquatics use but they only sell it overseas... the one you are talking about is most likely just a person filling gelcaps with O+

Just make your own.
For a few bucks you can buy a small jar of Osmocote at a garden supply store, and 00 gel caps are also very cheaply bought at nutrition stores or online.
You can make hundreds of osmocote tabs for just a few dollars.

Well, hopefully they will make an aquatic version in US in future. Without orange balls. Until then, happy with Seachem version.

In 00 gel caps sounds like somebody is making them themselves and selling pre-loaded gel caps.

Got a link to the amazon listing?
