Dosing Liquid Fertilizer

As someone who has never dosed a liquid fertilizer in a tank before, I'm wondering if running a carbon filter pad will reduce the benefits? I'm going to be dosing NilocG ThriveC for low tech tanks in my 10 gallon. I'm also running a Marineland filter with a filter pad that has carbon in it.

The filter pad will not have any noticeable effect.

Use Purigen instead and you won't have to worry about. You'll get 100 different answers as to wether carbon has any effect.

If the tank is new just leave the carbon in. The carbon will help purify the water removing toxins, etc until the bio-filter and plants get up to speed. The carbon's effect on dosing will be pretty much zero. In a month or so, clean out the filter and replace the carbon with either purigen or more media.
