From Malawi to South American - Advice wanted
I am converting my 125G Malawi tank to a South America blackwater-inspired tank (so lots of wood, rocks, and minimal plants). My tap water in Houston has a pH of 7.5, GH of 160ppm and KH of 107ppm). For the Malawi cichlids I didn't have to do much. What additives do you use in your South American biotopes? I know the wood will bring down the pH some.
I've already decided on the stocklist (all tank-raised):
30 Hemigrammus bleheri
20 Hyphessobrycon amandae
8 Corydoras Sterbai
1 Apistogramma Agassizi "Fire Red" (not interested in breeding and had enough aggression with the Malawi cichlids)
(possibly Otocinclus, nerites, amano shrimp down the line, depending on the algae situation)

Reason: added ppm measurements instead of API
