Do I need Ferts? Bacopa, Amazon Sword, and Anubius

Hi,

I am currently setting up my tank with bacopa, Amazon sword, and anubius. I have a fluval 24/7 light. It is a deep tank (56 gallon corner tank).

Bacopa is growing a bit. The Anubis looks ok, the Amazon sword looks terrible.

Amazon sword leaves are all rotting.

I had this setup before, and all was well. The only difference is that I now have well water and a water softener. Do I need fertilizer because of this, even though it wasn’t needed before?

The well water is certainly different! Ph is 8.2-8.4.

Let me know your thoughts!

Thanks!

All forms of life, yes even plants require some form of nutrients.

Granted we don't get to view the uptake as in phish eating brine shrimp or flakes.

Are you getting water pre or post water softener?

What is the GH & KH in your tank?

Growing is not that difficult.
