Amount of ferts in old aquariums.

Hallo!
I heard an opinion that in course of time being the number of ferts changes.
Example:
1-18 months ago 10 times of micro, 10 times of macro, 3 times of iron and 3 times of potassium.
But in the same aquarium after 18 months I need to add another doses of ferts.
2 times of micro, 10 times of macro, 2 times of potassium and 10 times of Iron.
But I use ADA ferts and I have not met such an opinion in their instructions.
What do you think about that?
Thanks a lot.

Hallo! I don't grok your numbers, but generally, new tanks tend to have less plant density and therefor require less fertilizing.
Older tanks might be somewhat overgrown, and as long as the plants are healthy, will want a somewhat higher amount of nutrients added.
It wouldn't be possible to put this in exact numbers (like 10x!), but what you can do is to measure something, like Nitrates for example, or EC, and take that as an indicator for general nutrient levels and demand.
