Kh, Gh, PH and CO2

Hi everyone I’m fairly new to the planted aspect of aquariums and recently set up a 120 gallon planted tank. I’m a little worried my kh and CO2 might be a little low for a planted tank. My water parameters are
PH 7.4
KH 2
GH 5
Based on those measurements with the research I’ve done my CO2 is low. My plants are showing a steady sign of growth however I am not 100% sure I am correct and that is what brings me here. Out of my tap the water parameters are
PH 8.0
Kh 2
GH 5-6
Should I worry about trying to raise my kh, and if so how should I go about doing that? I was planning on eventually getting a 5 pound CO2 canister and adding CO2 with a diffuser to the tank. When I do that will that help me? Also is my gh in a good range? I read 5-8 is fine but wasn’t sure if I should raise it a degree or two with seachem equilibrium. And is my PH in an acceptable range or should I try to lower it a little bit. Any help will be greatly appreciated thank you.

I think your KH is just fine. I have it at almost zero and my plants are exploding. GH seems perfect as is. It really depends what sort of plants you are trying to get. What sort of CO2 do you have right now? I'd aim for a PH drop of 1 when you dial in your CO2. If your degassed water is 8 (figure this out by leaving some aquarium water in a glass for 24-48h and then test your PH in there), you should aim for a PH of 7 with CO2 on. Make sure you have good surface agitation.

There's an excellent article about CO2 here:

I'd read all of it, it should clarify a lot.

Sorry if I didn’t make it clear but I don’t have any co2 currently but plan to add in the future. Thank you for your input and for that website though. There’s a lot of great information there.
