Newb query on Fertilizers

Hi All. I’m a bit concerned about using liquid Fertilizers that contain nitrogen as I believe this is a nitrate and I already have 40ppm nitrates coming from the tap so don’t want this any higher. I have been using tabs pushed into the substrate as I figured this would keep most everything out of the water column but I now have Cobumba starting to lose leaves and wonder if lack of ferts is the issue. I’m on medium lighting and adding liquid CO2 daily. Is there a fert I can use which will give the plants the other macro/micros that they need without increasing nitrate readings, or does anyone have any other suggestions. I am uk based. Thanks
