Help WiWater Parameters

Being new to planted tanks, I have a ton of questions. I have a 10 gal. IM nano tank that I converted from saltwater to a freshwater planted tank. I’m using 100% RO water. I have a CO2 system as well. The pH is 6.0 with all other water parameters at or near zero. So far, all of the plants are doing super. I want to add some neons and felt the pH needed to be higher. Therefore, I added Seachem Alkaline Buffer along with their Acid Buffer to my RO water to achieve a pH around 6.6, but now the kH is off the charts. This is water that I have not added to the tank yet. Is this expected? Can I lower the kH without it effecting the pH? Am I doing something wrong?
