Crystal Pure Salt product

Hey guys, have any of you ever come across this:

I bought a filter online from China, and it came with a pack of this stuff. Is it simply sea salt? I'm setting up a planted aquarium.. should I avoid putting this in the tank?

Thanks for your advice!

Yes, avoid it. Don't put anything in your tank if you don't know what it is!

All common fertilizer ingredients are technically salts according chemistry science. However in nor common discussion in home Salt reverts to Sodium Chloride. Now if the bag was just Sodium Chloride yes it can kill fish if you add too much. but if you add just a little bit say 10ppm of sodium chloride fish would be fine. Dose matters as much as what salt it is.

Yes, avoid it. Don't put anything in your tank if you don't know what it is!
yes always look for an ingredients list and guarantied Anaylsis lis on the product. That would tell you what it is and how muck of each ingredient is present. If you don't have this information you are assuming the product and usage instructions are correct. For a reputable manufacture you would generally be OK. However we don't know if this manufacture is reputable. So I wouldn't by it or use it. There are many aquarium products I will not by because I have no idea what is in it.

According to a translation I got, the packet it contains "high quality minerals" using some "special process of extraction" containing "trace elements and minerals"...

My most generous conclusion is that it solves a problem that I probably don't have yet. Will follow the advice to avoid. Cheers.
