Tds meter help

I have 2 different meters one also reads temp the other doesnít. When I test my fresh ro water both meters read 9 tds. When I test the tank the one that also reads temp says the tds is 149. The other one reads tds as 173. Do I need a new tds meter?

On the meter it self? On the box/paperwork they came in?

The non temp reading one just says range 0-9990ppm. Itís factory calibrated and doesnít need recalibrated.

Still looking for the info on the other one

They are just not calibrated equally, stick to using the one with the temp calibration. Don't both comparing the two if they aren't reading the same.

The testers are most likely calibrated for NaCl ppm. To check how well calibrated they are, adding 1 gram of NaCl (kitchen salt) to 1L of demineralized water should read 1000 ppm. Some units have a small calibration adjustment potentiometer.

A good TDS probe will read the temperature and apply a calibration adjustment to the temperature doesn't affect the reading. I would guess this effect is quite small and is probably not all of the difference between your probes.
