New to dosing ferts, can someone help me review?

So I've set up a 3 gallon shrimp tank (no shrimp yet) and will be setting up a 29 gallon tank for tetras and coreys. I've had planted tanks in the past, but never got into dosing ferts.

I won't be injecting CO2 anytime soon, but maybe in the future. So for now, I'm low-tech.

So to get started, I think I've decided on the EI Daily method (PPS-Pro could be a backup, but EI seems better).

My goal is to mix the ferts into a solution and then dose accordingly.

Since my 3 gallon shrimp tank is...well 3 gallons, I want to make sure I can dose an even 1mL of each solution so things don't get complicated. (I'll make some separate solutions for the 29g when it gets set up)

Utilizing Rotala Butterfly this is what I came up with:

Macros (500mL solution, 1mL per dose)
  • 24.69 grams KNO3
  • 4.07 grams KH2P04
  • 33.74 grams of K2SO4

Micros (500ml solution, 1mL per dose)
  • 7.25 grams of CSM+B

Any thoughts or recommendations?

K2SO4 seems like a lot.
Did you add the K from the other 2 before determining this???

EI was designed more for high tech setups. With low to medium intensity lighting (which is ideal when not injecting CO2) you would be better off starting around 1/4 to 1/3 EI.

Here are some numbers from my Windows calculator. The numbers below are for traditional EI daily. Rotala butterfly is suggesting 0.1 ppm of Iron with the CSM+B. In fact, the correct EI daily dose is 0.2ppm. That said, I do believe the 50% reduction suggested would be sufficient.

NO3 3.2
N 0.722851459
PO4 0.6
P 0.195677031
K 3.2
Fe 0.2
Mg 0.04287902
dGH 0.03582263
Cu 0.002756508
B 0.024502297
Mn 0.057274119
Mo 0.001531394
S 0.383508695
Zn 0.011332312

Macro Solution: Add the following to 500ml of water,

KH2PO4 4.881640742 gm (approximately 3/4 teaspoons)
KNO3 29.626802099 gm (approximately 5 3/4 teaspoons)
K2SO4 11.834272146 gm (approximately 1 3/4 teaspoons)

Micro Solution: Add the following to 500ml of water,

Plantex CSM+B 17.391000887 gm (approximately 4 1/32 teaspoons)

The levels above are for a 3 gallon tank using a container size of 500 ml and a dose size of 1 ml.
