Don't Do This!

So, you changed your water, added your water conditioner, then your ferts. Stop right there! Do not add your ferts until 24 hours after you add your water conditioner. Let's see if you guys and gals know why and who has made this mistake. Aaaaand go!

Close. Using Prime and ferts with heavy metals at the same time...Prime will "detoxify" the metals making them unavailable for the plants. However...some think that since Prime only deals with trace amounts and dosing ferts would put more in the water than the Prime can handle, there would still be enough for the plants to utilize. So it's one of those things for the person to decide which way to go...wait 24 hours or don't worry too much about it. I use RO water so I don't worry about it either way since I don't use Prime.

Dose macros on water change day, not micros.

And here I always thought water change day you add nothing. Maybe Im the only one in here following the basic EI layout? I wouldnt be surprised at all if prime messed with micro nutrients in a big way, and locks up Iron.

As soon as I start refilling the tank I add Prime, then dissolve and add macros (a weekly dose). Last thing I do to complete my tank maintenance is add micros (a weekly dose). Yep, one day a week maintenance and dosing. Heresy! Remember these are weeds, not orchids.
