This may be the craziest thing I have ever read

I read recently on a FB page that to remove chlorine and chloramines drop a vitamin C tablet in the water 24 hours before you do the water change.

Either the guy who wrote it was being facetious, or maybe not.

Thoughts?

Take only pictures, leave only footprints.

Just letting water sit for 24 hours will allow chlorine to off gas. Chloramine not so much. The vit. C breaks the bond between chlorine and ammonia...then the chlorine can gas off but you'd still have ammonia in the water. It would be fine for folks using the water for plants and gardening...not so much for us obviously.

Using Vitamin C seems like an expensive method to dechlorinate water

Especially with products like Prime and Safe on the market.

One ml of PRIME ,which is little more than a drop, can detoxify chlorine, chloramines, and ammonia in 10 gal of water.
Takes nearly three times the amount of most all other conditioner's to treat same volume so PRIME is cheaper over the long haul, and more importantly, adresses ammonia that many other conditioner's don't.
