API GH & KH test

I ordered the API gh & kh test from Amazon and when I got it there wasn't a color chart. Could someone post a pic of one? Would really appreciate it! It's the liquid drop test

These tests use a color change to indicated a concentration based off the number of drops you add, not a color scale. Did you get a directions sheet, or just the bottles? If not, I would try to find it online and read through that.

Gh goes from orange to green
Kh goes from blue to yellow

Just sent me bottles. I looked online but couldn't find anything. I figured they came with a chart like the API master kit

Yeah to get the dGH you add so many drops until it turns from yellow to green. So if for example it turns green after 8 drops you know your dGH is somewhere between 7-8. Same with the dKH test except you are waiting to see it turn from blue to yellow. Now there is a way to get a more accurate reading then the +-1 variance. Lets say you want to get within .5. What you do is add double the amount of test water so instead of 5ml you get a small jar or something and add 10ml of water. Then instead of 1 drop equals 1dGH or 1dKH 2 drops equals 1dGH or 1dKH. This is handy if you are like me and like to get more precise measurements. I go as far as using 20ml of test water instead of 5 so that means 4 drops equals 1dGH or 1dKH.

-tells my S.O. that we didn't get a color chart for the API GH & KH test kit, either-

-he gets offended that one wasn't provided; after swearing that we had one and then couldn't find it-

A useful technique is to take a picture of the vial after every drop so you can compare the subtle changes in color.
