Cycle done much earlier than expected

So it appears that my new 125 gallon cichlid tank will be done cycling much earlier than I expected. Since I'm not quite ready to buy fish yet should I just keep dosing ammonium chloride to feed the bacteria?

Yes, keep up the dossing at the same rate and keep doing your water changes. It'll maintain the cycle while you wait for fish. Once fsh arrive stop dosing and you'll be good to go

Thanks, that's what I thought but wanted to confirm.

Just checked my parameters and after only a week and a half of "official" cycling...ammonia 0 ppm, nitrites 0 ppm and nitrates ~40 ppm. I have been running the tank with only Poret and filter floss for several weeks just to test plumbing and equipment. Added the eco complete cichlid substrate and rocks on 9/17 and started dosing ammonium chloride on 9/24. It probably helps that I have 24 liters of Matrix in my 75 gallon basement sump. Yes, I know that's overkill but I found it fairly cheap. After dosing, 4 ppm of ammonia are undetectable within a few hours.
