TDS Reading

Just curious what are your tds readings?

Mine seem rather low and questioning it's calibration. Unit is brand new out of box first test in tank is at 175 tds.

Dosing EI 50%water changes on Saturday.

Out of tap is 25 tds

What is your gh and kh out of tap? That will give you a good idea of general tds. For example for me a gh of 5 and kh of 4 that gives me a tds of about 130.

I'm suspecting your tds meter needs to be checked. You would be at least 50 tds with those readings. I know because when my tap was that soft with gh and kh of 3 I was at 51tds.

But not off that far to be honest.

Likely calibrated at around 1500ppm NaCl. So it will be very accurate measuring NaCl (table salt) at 1500ppm, with accuracy falling the further you move away from that calibrated solution.
Use one of the many online calculators that show how to make a NaCl solution, and create a solution around 100ppm. Calibrate your TDS meter from this solution.

Feel free to edit.
