EI Dosing Regimen

Okay so I went to my LFS Aqua Serene In Eugene Oregon, love this place. Andrew and Olaf are both super nice and talented, and have helped me set my stuff up. Anyways a person here told me that they dose their 55 gal with this ~

Plantex- 1/8 tsp 3x per week

KH2PO4- 1/8 tsp 1x per week

KNO3- 1/2 tsp 3x per week

I also have something called MGSO4, Urea, GH and CASO4

Could someone elaborate on these ones that I don't know and do you think this is a fine dosing amount for everything? This is for their planted 55 gal and I have a lightly planted 65 gallon.

Thanks for any answers.

The CASO4 and MGSO4 and usually K(potassium) come as a GH booster. Depending on your water parameters you may or may not need. These are typically needed if you have low GH like 3GH or less. I need it as my GH from tap is only three GH and it helped some of my plants that were showing Mg deficiency issues. So it really depends if you need it or not. Here is what I use.

I use the Green Leaf Aquarium (GLA) ferts and PPS method. The kit is $25 and comes with everything you need besides a scale and RODI water. I did find that purchasing some 1ml and 5ml oral syringes on Amazon makes dosing quicker, easier, and more accurate since the method calls for daily dosing.

Thanks, I bought the green leaf starter kit from another seller than GLA. I also have nilocG. Thanks a lot.
