Need opinion on fertilizer with Mycorrhizae
Hi, this is my first post here, I'm Luke. I just wanted to know how you guys felt about this fertilizer and a substrate.
The fertilizer in question is Espoma Organic Bio-Tone Starter Plus with Mycorrhizae. I've seen a post on this forum that seemed to have some success with mycorrhizae.
My problem is, this is a dry fertilizer that I'm not sure how to apply to my tank.. I'm starting a 10 gallon, just experimenting tbh, haven't had an aquarium for a long time and I've been inspired by all the awesome planted tanks I've seen.
I was thinking I would just lightly coat the bottom of the tank with the fertilizer, cover it with the soil and then some decent gravel, eco-complete possibly. I was thinking sand originally but hear it can be a pain and it pointless, nutrition wise. To clean the tank I would first just fill it outside and flood it for a while. I'm on well water with a high kh, around 190+. I planned to use that and cut it with distilled water.
The first and second pictures are the fertilizer and the other one is the ingredients on the organic garden soil I want to use. It's Natural Guard 100% Organic Garden Soil. I plan to put shrimp in the tank when it's ready. Using a double sponge filter. Thanks.
