Is this a K deficiency?

These are leaves on my Hygros, I understand they are particularly a good indicator of a K deficiency.

I currently dose 1/2 tsp Equilibrium, 1/4 tsp KNO3 and 1/16 tsp KH2PO4 weekly in accordance with the Tom Barr low tech dosing guidelines.

Thanks for any help!

What is the size of your tank? It does appear to be but when I had low ca and mg I was also getting pinholes. What is your gh after re-mineralizing? You typically want at least 15 ca and 5 mg with low tech. For me the ratios matter. I know in my high tech all pin holes stopped appearing once I added gh booster as my ca and mg from tap was really low. 7 and 2. I raise my gh to 5 and all issues disappeared so it also could of been k in my case. I would shoot for a gh of 5 if not already.

What he does not mention is what his gh already is before adding the ca/k/mg. Like I said just shoot for a gh of 5 after each wc and it for sure could help your issue like it did mine.

Is this a K deficiency?

I keep my GH at 5 degrees, yes. In fact right now it is 7 because I over compensated with Equilibrium one time and haven't done a WC yet.

Oh and one more thing lol. Sorry still waking up and have not had all of my coffee. But try and get as close as you can to the 3:3:1 ca:k:mg ratio. I know it's debatable about the effect of the ratio or not but I stick to it more to ensure the levels are enough. I cannot find where seachem equilibrium stated the ratio their product uses for ca, k, mg.

And I have nothing but excellent results using nilocG gh booster. Like I said it fixed my issue of holes as well. I have not had a single leaf have another hole since using. http://nilocg.com/gh-booster-1lb/. I use after each 50% wc to maintain a gh of 5-6

My GH and KH out of the tap is 0. This is well water and no I do not have softener. I dose baking soda to KH of 3 and Equilibrium to GH of 5, plus add 1/2 tsp a week per low tech dosing guidelines screenshotted above.

I do not know the Ca Mg ratios of Equilibrium.

This is a 40G tank.

So you should be good with ca, k, mg if you have a gh of 5. If you wanted to test this add an extra 2dGH to get you to a total of 7. See if you keep getting new holes if you do then you know it cannot be that.

Also I suggest to open a new thread on seachem support forums. They are quick to answer and will tell you what the ca k mg levels are.

That might be K deficiency, but it's a mild one. You could dose macros 2x week instead of once, or just up the dosage, maybe 33%

Ca and Mg should be fine using Equilibrium.

What are you dosing for micros/Fe, anything?

Just Equilibrium, per Tom Barr in a low light non CO2 tank he claims that's all that is needed even with inert gravel.

I wouldn't be opposed to (dry dosing) another micro powder like CSM+B if you think it's needed and might resolve this deficiency? But per the above post maybe I need to try upping macros instead?

A benefit of the method is that dosing is low so weekly WC are not needed, I was hoping for monthly with this tank (he says No WC but I don't need absolutely.

I'd try just adding extra K and see what that does. I dose full EI but it's not enough for my tank (heavy on the hygro side). I tend to see a positive response in as little as three days. I dose added K (in the form of KCl) every day in addition to my macro/micro given which day it is.

How much K? Let's say I buy K2SO4?
