Question 1 bottle fertiliser? - best fertiliser?

Hi,

I have set up an 85 Gal planted tank with CO2 for my daughters, they will maintain it!

Currently I am dosing with Continuum products, four different bottles, multi nutrient, nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus.

Is there a one bottle solution for fertilising that will be easy for them? Looking for a simple regime for them to follow.

What make of fertilisers have members had best success with?

Thanks

Stu.

Generally, it is not advised to store a stock solution of macronutrients with micronutrients, as this often causes a precipitate to form. This means that you'll have to have 2 bottles.

I personally have tried both PPS-Pro and EI, which uses dry chemicals (fertilizers), which can be bought in bulk

1 bottle fertiliser? - best fertiliser?

I've been using nilocg products. With success. I use his micro, macro, iron and GH booster.. all together is about 30-35 shipped? I bought some labels and labeled which day to use certain bottles. For example, one day I use the micro so I mark Monday the next I use macro so I mark Tuesday.. etc. on the 7th day you would do a 50% water change. No dosing on this day. If you have soft water you would dose a 1/4tsp of GH booster per 10g of water. If you have hard water you would just do a water change and call it a day. Essentially a rest day. I should also mention that one pump per 10g is recommended.

Edit: the dosing instructions I mentioned are for a high light setup. For low light the dosing is different and it states how much to dose for a low light on the bottle I just don't remember.

I use Easy Green from Aquarium Co-Op. Been quite happy with it.

Select aquatics sells an all in 1 dry fert. If you red plants they will need more iron.

I used that before, and it works really well. Expensive though in larger tanks.

I also heard good things about NiloCG Thrive+, not tried it though.

I read a thread where someone used NiloCG Thrive+ and it increased her nitrates to a high level. It seems to have more nitrates than the other ingredients.

I've been using nilocg Thrive+ for about a month now and haven't noticed any increase in nitrates but my tank is still cycling with plants only. I've used other nilocg products in the past with great results.
