PPS Pro and large water change

Going to have to do a 50% water change this weekend on my 120, and just started doing PPS Pro a couple of weeks ago. Should I do 5X the normal dosage the first time I add after the water change?

I have never used PPS Pro but its is my understanding that you are only dosing what you thing the plants will take per day. If that is the case, no. Just do your normal dosing.

Wish I could give you a better answer. I did PPS Pro for about a year along with 50% water changes. Plants did not do very well. I finally switched over to full EI and the plants are doing much better (still doing 50% water changes each week). So, to answer your question - it's possible my plants suffered because I didn't add enough nutrients by doing 50% water changes and standard dosing.

Good point. I doubt that dosing 3x the amount or more will hurt to start off. +1 on EI though...

Thank you!

I'm trying not to do water changes any more than once a month, but I've been fighting what I think is Staghorn algae for the last few months. I'd hoped that added ferts would help, but it hasn't. Going to do the one/two punch treatment which requires a 50% water change when complete. 3X seems like a happy medium to me

Ive been dosing PPS-pro for over a year. I do a 30-50% water change every other week and simply dose the normal amount of fertilizers while the tank refills. Plants are growing like weeds and no major problems with algae
