It could just be some harmless precipitate. I would try to agitate the bottle to get it to redissolve.

I wouldn't worry about it. I have the same thing in the DIY liquid micros from Nilocg.

Is it mold or more like crystals? Are you keeping it in the refrigerator? To avoid mold, I refrigerate it, and I get precipitate that won't dissolve for me as well. I think that's pretty normal.

hey all! this is my first post/ comment. im having the same issue with my micros. i added 5ml of excel to the mix when i first made it. but im looking to dilute my solution to create a weaker mix. (that way i just add more ml when i dose the tank) can anyone help me? i would like to make the mix so i can add 1ml per 10 gallons. right now its .1ml per 10 gallons. the original recommendation was 28.6g per 500ml of water. (by edwards site)....would i just dilute it to 2.86g per 500ml? (pretty sure my math is right, didnt know if because its plant FOOD i should be doing anything differently)

THANKS

Yes, your calculation is correct. Preparing a solution with 2.86 grams of the trace mix will thus require you to dose 1 mL rather than 0.1 mL to achieve the same dose.

I do not understand how .1 ml of that solution per 10 gallons is enough trace for a tank? Dosing to a target of .2 ppm iron is many times more. Help me understand how this is enough according to PPS pro.

you have to add more iron separately, either DPTA 11% OR another chelate form. due to if you add too much micros. toxicity levels of other minerals become increasingly relevant

. 1ml per 10 gal of the stock recommended mixture is fine for the Pps pro method, you can always try the ei method if it suits your tank needs more appropriately. whether you add. .1 ml per 10 gallons or 10ml per 10 gallons is entirely based on your solution concentration level
