Some questions unclear about EI

Hi first post here but have been reading for a long time.

Im starting with EI but still got some questions that is unclear to me. Hard to find solid info on it. So here it goes, hope someone can answer them.

1. Am i supposed to dose the complete amount of ppm every time i dose or should i split it up to x3 week?

Example, i want these levels of nutrients in my water

NO3 15ppm
PO4 3ppm
Fe 0.2 ppm

Should this be split up into the daily dosage for the week or is it the amount that should be added every time i add them?

2. After a 50% water change if i only add macros or micros on the same day, wouldnt that leave the water low on either of them depending on which one i added for that day? Why not add both on water change day?

Hope some of this made sense. I apologize if its been answered already but these two things have been bogging my head BAD for the past weeks now. Mostly the first question.

With EI (or any other dosing regime) you dose micros and macros on alternate days. If you dose on the same day the iron in the micros gets transformed into a form that is less usable by the plants (don't ask me the chemistry, just going by what others have said).

The goal is to hit a target ppm of every nutrient. To achieve this with EI you dose 3x per week. Amounts are determined by how large your tank is. A good source of info to read about EI is on the aquaticplantcentral.com website under the fertilizing sub forum (IIRC). If not there, hunt around and you will find it. A good website to figure out dosing schedule is rotalabutterfly.com.

Ok so this is what i got.

"To reach your target of 15ppm you will need to add 105.98 grams of KNO3 to your 500ml dosing container. Add 30ml of that mix to your 260L aquarium to Yield : NO3 15ppm"

What i am asking if i should add 30ml every 2 days or split that 30ml into 3. Thats 10ml every 2 days?

You can always Dry Dose. So I follow the 10-20 gallon regime without booster. The dosing amount is per dose one day at a time. Alternate your Micros and Macros just like others have stated.

That appears to be 10ml doses.

Alright thanks. Ive been doing it wrong for the past 3 weeks then. Ive added full dose 30ml at every dosing. But its strange because i have not seen any negative effects other than running out of chemicals. In fact all the GSA has started to die and really clear out. Fish doesnt seem to mind either.
