PPS-PRO Water change question KNO3

So I'm using the Rotalla calc for estimating a pps-pro dosing amount. I calculated for around 5ppm of KNO3, which is roughly 130 gram per 500ml container doing 10ml doses on a 90 gallon tank. My KNO3 has been going off the charts into 100+ppm range...does this essentially mean I need to step up my water changes...or get more plants (which I don't want to do) or reduce concentration?

What action would be best from the choices above...or a mix of the solutions? Are there other solutions not listed?

I do roughly 20-25% water changes a week.

What is your stocking? NO3 comes mostly from fish waste, if your fish are producing enough you might want to stop dosing KNO3 completely. It's better to have separate solutions for every compound, this way when you need to stop dosing KNO3 only, you can dose the rest normally, without changing solution.

I hardly have any fish in the tank so I don't feed much at all Like 2 small bala sharks and 2 tiger barbs and 6 tetras...it's possible the food is also not even eaten. It has a lot of detritus on the plant leaves. But dang, I feel I barely even feed in general.

Here is a link to the PPS-Pro nitrate-free solution.
Edward made some revisions to the site this year.

Using PPS-Pro you should not need to increase your WC's.

nice thanks!

I'm still confused about the pps-pro dosage amount and the rotala calculator. Using the calculator in Rotalla it says I need 133grams per 500ml container and 9 ml doses to achieve 4.31ppm. The pps-pro guide that's supposed to be used says 32.6 grams of kno3, which achieves 1.06 ppm using the calculator..

So if Rotala says PPS should be between 5ppm-10ppm, how come the guide says to only achieve 1ppm? Who's right?

Edward's site and as far as I know, PPS belongs to him.
He is a member here maybe @Edward will notice and reply.
I would trust his site before the calculators if dosing PPS.

The site's numbers are way off. I've been noticing this, maybe bug or something screwed up. U might want to add rotalabutterfly in title so they get things fixed

Bump: Try downloading zorfox calculator, I haven't tested it yet

After checking 3 calculators they all spec 1ppm KNO3 for PPS dosing.
Where did the 4.31ppm come from?
