I am starting a 20H, using Fluval Plant and Shrimp Stratum as the substrate. Most plants will be planted in the soil. However, I will be growing Anubias and moss on driftwood in the tank so I assume I should be dosing liquid ferts to give them nutrients in the water column,. Is this correct? If so, how do I dose for that? Full dose for 20gallon? A partial dose? Not at all?

Not using CO2.

Thanks!

Okay, I figured out the search-fu for the forum to find past threads, seems it's good to dose both, I think I'll try dosing the water at 50% recommended and see how that goes.

For the record, I use forum member nilocg's all-in-one Thrive mixture.

Initially you probably wont need much because of the soil, maybe half a dose once a week. Monitor nitrates as you go, if you see them dip them up your dosing. As long as you keep up with your water changes you shouldnt run into any issues with anything getting too high.

Thanks, Colin! Just want to be sure the stuff on the driftwood gets what it needs from the water.
