Tropica fertiliser

Are they any good?

I was thinking of starting to dose my 50g with both their specialised and premium fertiliser.

Spesialised one day, premium the other.

I also read on this forum that you can't dose macro and micro at the same time due to iron reacting with phosphorus. But then how come the tropica specialised fertiliser contains both micro and macro?

As with most commercial fertilizers, you are paying mostly for water.

I am unsure of the composition of the Tropica fertilizer, but if it does indeed contain both micro and macronutrients, they are probably at such a lower concentration that mixing the two of them together will not cause excessive precipitation of ferric phosphate.

George Farmer uses them and his tanks aren't too shabby.

I use Tropica Specialised daily in my betta tank. One fish, 12 gallon planted tank with vals, dwarf sag, anubias micro and red tiger lotus. Works very well there. In my 33g I use Tropica Premium for micros and add a few Seachem products for macros, mainly potassium and phosphates (fish provide enough nitrates). Both tanks are low tech - no CO2, no Excel.
