Way to calculate GH and Kh?

Im wondering if there is a way to calculate these and TDS from my city water report? as I dont have test kit for them, If there is a way someone knows, I can post a pic of the city report, thanks

just get a TDS meter. they are cheap and really useful.

North Dakota
125 planted, angels, rummies, c02 tank
72 bow, mystery snails and angels
55 planted, yellow neon shrimp
55 shrimp tank, rcs
29 shrimp tank, blue- not sure what kind
40 long - winter koi home
40 breeder- planted
10- nursery
10- quarantine
5.5- cycling to be another shrimp tank...

TDS will be drastically different in your aquarium so don't bother using the report for that.

For KH divide total alkalinity by 17.86. For GH divide total Calcium and Magnesium by the same, 17.86.

In your case 148 / 17.86 = 8.2 dKH

I didn't see any magnesium listed, only calcium. Based ONLY on calcium your gh would be 3, (53.8 / 17.86 = 3.012). In reality it would be somewhat higher including the magnesium.

oh, i must have cut off the bottom, magnesium average was 9.98 Thanks guys it gives me a rough idea, while I wait for test kits!
