So I was Thinking... UH OH, dont think!

How much difference does it make to tell Chuck's Planted Aquarium Calculator that my tank is 90 gallons, when in actuality its a 75 gallon tank.

I did this thinking it wanted to know how much water was in my system.
With hoses from FX5(1 inchers), wet dry and hose, and my R.G. reactor, I am estimating 90 gallons of water(on the low side), maybe upwards off 100 gallons.

Should I calculate my doses using my original water volume method, or tell the calc, I have 75?

I would go by water volume, not tank size.

Ive got an fx5 with full length hoses(6-7 gallons), 1 inch x 3 foot hose on my wet-dry(at least 10 gallons there for sure) Plus my 2 x 26" reactor and lines(1-3 gallons)... what do you think?

i very well may be wrong. your thinking seems logical. i'm just trying to compare it to the size of 5 gal buckets, and 3 of them just seems like a lot, but that may be a good way to measure it. dump the filter water and all the h20 from the hoses into a bucket.

You are right. I put two 5 gallon buckets in my wetdry when I do water changes... The fluval IS 5 gallons plus hoses... and im guessing on the reactor...
But on the original note, what is your opinion on the Q asked?

x2, this seems to be a more accurate way of doing things.

Since My thought wasn't pillaged by O_S, and almost confirmed by others, I guess I'll go by estimated volume.
