Any input on this CO2 system?

http://www.marinedepot.com/AquariumP...FICORE-vi.html

I got my tax money back and its burning a hole in my pocket. Does anyone have any input on this particular system?

I'd suggest the Red Sea setup, but that's because I have one. The consensus behind the AP.com one is that it isn't the BEST IN THE WORLD, but it does do exactly what it says on the box, has an unknown longevity (its pretty new), is very 'set and forget', and is stinking pricey.

Do a search on this regulator, there were at least 2 (lengthy) discussion threads debating the merits of this regulator.

I appreciate your input folks. I was looking at the Red Sea setup as well and seems to have a lot of good feedback. Doing more research.........

Ok, I think I'm going with this http://www.marinedepot.com/ps_ViewIt...189421&isKit=0

Seems like it will package just about everything I'll need to go semi-pro.

The only weak point in the system I've found is the bubble counter. Mine leaked, but Red Sea made good on it and replaced it no-charge. It will need to be cleaned and refilled about once every 6 weeks if you use water. Treat the needle valve well, use the solenoid to shut off CO2 flow

I can take a picture of my setup if you care to see it.

WOW, those are more expensive than the 'pro' setups at Greenleaf or Sumo's ....

I agree with brad. you should really go to greenleafaquariums.com or sumoregulator and look at their options. Solid, reliable regulators, outstanding service, and no quality issues.

Those prices are NUTS.

If you have ordered, cancel. If you haven't, do yourself a favor and buy from one of those guys. Their product is worth the money.

x3... run don't walk away from the Red Sea system at Marinedepot... way too much money for inferior components compared to what you can get from SuMo or GLA.

Wow, I guess I can still cancel I appreciated your brutal honesty though haha. As far as the pricing though, The red sea comes with everything you need including the difuser and the pump for the diffuser which is why it was so attractive. I got sick of making lists and having to double check whether I not I had everything.

You dont want a paintball setup. RedSea is err... ok'ish, IMO. I wouldnt have anyone get in to wasting money on a paintball setup even if it has an "adapter". IMO GLA - great C-service! No hassle people.

Holy crap I didn't even see the price. I ended up paying about $180 total inc. the solenoid for mine, and I run it on a 20# tank. I still think Red Sea is on the average price/performance line with other setups, they're just closer to crappier/cheaper than other setups

The diffuser is pretty good, FWIW. Nice and quiet, and if you keep it under 3bps it gets 100% diffusion rate.

Ok, I'm looking at Greenleaf and 1. I do understand that their parts are supieror. Their packages are definately not cheaper though and do not come with difuser, pump for difuser, or the CO2 indicator. They do come with a PH controller which would be great. I'm not sure what I'm missing, but I do trust your judgment. I'm calling Marine Depot to see if I can cancel, put on hold, or I may just refuse the package if its too late. Insta, I'd still like to see your setup because I'm really not sure what I'm going to do yet. The Red Sea package has a lot of convenience involved which is really important to me considering I already hate purchasing online, and I could get everything I would need in one swoop for $340.00.

PS You guys do see that the package is not just a solenoid and regulator right??
