CO2 Diffuser clogs with Algea

Hi, I have a co2 diffuser (Green Leaf) and the disc gets covered with algea easily. When this happens it no longer produces a nice fine mist.

Ive tried to clean them, even tried soaking in bleach. The bleach takes the algea off but they still dont work properly.

Anybody else have this issue, and what is the remedy?
I cant see buying new disc every month or two

Thanks in Advance...

The best thing to do when using glass diffusres is to always have 2. While one is in operation the dirty one is soaking in hydrogen peroxide, this will work much better than bleach. Leave the glass in the h2o2 the whole time your other diffuser is in the tank.

When it comes time to swap them just pull the one that is soaking in h2o2 and its a quick swap out. Dirty unit in the tub of h2o2.

Hope this helps!

Tilex does mine in about the time it takes to water change & trim tank.

Rinse well and maybe give it a dip in some Prime.

Craig
That's exactly how I use to do it when I had mine.
