New Tank, few questions regarding water.
So as the title says i started a tank on sunday. These are the details on the water in my area,
Kh- 9 (161 ppm)
Gh- very high, test wont show.
The tank is a 25 gallon with an eheim 2213, diy co2 into the intake, and a 65watt 6700k bulb with flourite substrate.
My CO2 changed the water to a 6.4Ph and while maintaining the Kh of 9. The Gh is still high. The ammonia is hovering around .5-1ppm (starting to cycle) so i am frequently changing water to keep that low. I have a few plants and two tetras to help cycle the tank. I have two large pieces of malaysian driftwood that i am currently doing what i can to remove some tannins before adding them to the tank.
So basically I am wondering what the effects will be on my water parameters if I add the driftwood to the tank, and am I putting too much co2 into the tank?
Also any tips or advice is always welcome, im never closed to ideas.
Thanks for anyone who can help.
PS. The reason my GH is so high is my water is runoff from the rocky mountains.
