KNO3 mixture crystalizes

Hello,

I mixed up some KNO3 solution but after a few months, probably due to winter, the solution formed crystals. What are they? Has the solution gone bad?

Thanks.

The crystals are in all likelihood KNO3 - it's just crystallizing out of solution. You could probably just add a little water and with some low heat and stirring, they'll probably dissolve again.

Of course adding water to a solution which may have already lost water due to some evaporation is definitely going to change your solution concentration at least a little.

If knowing exact concentration is important, I'd use a really good hydrometer or mix a new batch

shake up your mixture and the crystals will dissolve.
Salts tend to crystallize. It's natural.
