Can somone help me with some conversions?

I wanted to make some solutions instead of dry dosing. I looked at that website for doing the conversions and was confused so I'm hoping someone can help me.

I wanted to make a 500mL solution of KNO3, KH2PO4, and Trace for EI dosing. For the concentration I need it so that for every 1 mL I dose it is enough for 10gals.

These need to be met also
NO3 range 5-30 ppm
K+ range 10-30 ppm
PO4 range 1.0-2.0 ppm

Thanks for your help

Neil

Has anyone here tried this in a tank with fish?

Sounds "interesting". 3 tbs/90 gal.

Dosing once a week?

I figure out how much of each I want to dose all week. Then add enough water to dissolve the materials. The volume of water is whatever I want it to be. Then I divide it in 3, and dose that much 3 days per week.

NO3: Are the fish contributing anything? What is the NO3 level without dosing?
PO4: Do you have a phosphate test? (Note: it is phosphate that is incompatible with iron-do not mix phosphate with traces that contain iron)
K: Aquatic plants seem to use a lot of K, so in my mixes I use more K than anything else.

Are you actually dealing with a 10 gallon tank? Or do you simply want to think in units of 10 gallons? I make a mix with 2 liters of water that lasts a week for about 700 gallons of water.

EI has some recipes that you could start with. It is designed to be used even without a test kit, as long as you do 50% water changes, weekly. I tested, then scaled back the dosing and water changes.

Neil, Start with the low end as suggested by the EI method, be prepared to do some water changes, and test what happens through a couple of weeks. Then adjust the recipe as needed.

From the sticky at the top of this forum:
Here is one way to dose a tank from 10-20 gallons:
50% H20 change-weekly
1/8 Tsp-KN03 3x a week
1/32 Tsp-KH2P04 3x aweek
1/4 Tsp-GH booster once a week
1/32Tsp-Trace 3x a week
Optional
.5-1ml-Fe/Iron 3x a week

My comments:
KN03: I reduced this because my fish turn fish food into nitrates all too well.
KH2P04: Just getting started measuring this, but it seems right.
K2SO4: I add so little K from the other sources I had to start adding this instead.
GH booster: I found I did not have to add this. My water has GH of 4-5 degrees, and without dosing, the level stays stable. Apparently the fish food offers enough Ca and Mg for my tanks.
Trace and chelated Iron: I do add this. Iron test is weird, and I am not sure what is happening, but I am adding it! I am using CSM+B and chelated iron.

Thats what I need help with

This is what I think I need to do but can someone double check me?

I would dose 1 mL for KNO3 and KH2PO4

10 Tablespoons KNO3 in 500mL of water
2 Tablespoons KH2PO4 in 500mL of water
2 Tablespoons Plantex in 500mL of water (2.5mL gives me about 1/32tsp dry dosing)

So levels would be
NO3 5.44ppm
PO4 1.06ppm
K 3.44ppm + whatever the K+ in KH2PO4 gives me

Neil
