Vinegar as preservative for micro solution

I've used Excel in the past as an anti-mold preservative in my micro solutions, but it's not readily available in my area. I've recently read about using HCL or other acids.

I'm considering using distilled white vinegar (~10ml to a 500ml solution). Anyone have experience with this? Any reason it wouldn't work? Seems to make sense, it's a mild acid, much cheaper than Excel, and easier to come by than HCL.

I have used vinegar in the past. It worked fine as far as I could tell. I also keep the micro solution in the fridge which is also very helpful. I used the same amount of vinegar, 10ml/500ml.
