What do I do at the end of my cycle?

I have a new 7 gallon tank that is nearly at the end of its cycle, and I am exited about stocking it with about 6 pygmy gouramis (2 males and 4 females), but I have come across a problem: there isn't enough plants for the gouramis yet so I will need to let it grow in. Since there will be no fish during this period will I have to add ammonia so the bacteria don't starve?

Will the gouramis really care? Throw in some plastic plants to give them some cover for awhile. BUT if you really dont want to add the gouramis, yes you will have to feed the bacteria something.

Add more plants and the fish.

OR

Feed the bacteria. Continue feeding them ammonia just like you were doing before the cycle was complete.
