Purigen and phosphates

I have a well-stocked low tech tank and didn't figure on needing to dose phosphate. Will my purigen prevent fish waste and food from being converted to phosphate? I know I should get a test kit but does anyone know from experience?

Thanks.

A low light tank doesn't need much of any nutrients. The plant growth is slow enough that just fish waste and left over food can supply the nutrients. Then, if you use a nutrient rich substrate like a soil based one, no nutrients will ever be needed, with the possible exception of potassium and maybe iron.

No Purigen won't effect your phosphates I use it all the time and haven't seen that happen in my low or hi tech tanks.
